Portugal has put a spanner in the European Union proposal to extend tariff-free lines quotas on 75 types of goods, including 64 textile products.
20 products including 14 items from textile sector however were subject to tariff rate quota (TRQ).
Portugal has now recommended that the tariff rate quota items be increased to 23 from 20.
This is likely to delay more the implementation of the package which was to be implemented retrospectively from January 1, 2011.
