China's textile & apparel exports decline in July

Textile and apparel exports from China registered US$ 23.89 billion in July 2012, showing a decline of 8.1 percent year-on-year, according to customs statistics.
 
During the month, textile exports accounted for US$ 8 billion, a decrease of 8 percent year-on-year, while garment exports were worth US$ 15.89 billion, fall of 8.1 percent year-on-year.
 
Comparing on a month-on-month basis, clothing exports from China grew 9.7 percent in July, while textile exports dipped 4.8 percent.
 
From January to July this year, China’s textile and garment exports totaled US$ 137.4 billion, declining by 0.2 percent year-on-year.
 
During the seven-month period, China’s textile exports fetched US$ 54.47 billion, down 0.2 percent year-on-year, whereas apparel exports earned US$ 82.93 billion, a decrease of 0.2 percent year-on-year.
