Although there was a marginal increase in China’s textile and apparel exports, the actual volume, after deducting price factors, showed negative growth during the initial months of the current year.

During January to July, the prices of Chinese textile and apparel export goods rose by 2.9 percent year-on-year, but export volume declined by 2.5 percent year-on-year, a decrease of 5 percent compared to the volume of goods exported in the corresponding period of previous year.

From January to August this year, China exported US$ 62.52 billion worth of textiles and US$ 99.48 billion worth of apparels, both growing at 0.7 percent year-on-year, according to the data from Customs.
