There was a modest growth in Chinese textile and apparel exports to the US during the first nine months of the current year, which points to slow economic recovery in the US.

In September 2012, China’s textile and garment exports to the US fetched US$ 3.96 billion, showing a rise of 3.6 percent year-on-year, according to the report released by China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles.

During the month, while Chinese textile exports to the US climbed by 2.4 percent year-on-year, garment exports jumped by 4 percent year-on-year.

From January to September, China’s textile and clothing exports to the US grew at a modest rate of 3.4 percent year-on-year to US$ 29.46 billion. While textile exports increased at 6.9 percent year-on-year to US$ 7.54 billion, apparel exports rose at 2.3 percent year-on-year to US$ 21/92 billion.
