China’s textile and apparel exports to Japan grew by 3.7 percent year-on-year to US$ 3.2 billion in September 2012, creating a new high this year, according to a report released by China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles.

Among sub-sectors, clothing sector exports to Japan increased by 4.4 percent year-on-year during the month.

Over 10,000 Chinese textile and apparel firms exported their goods to Japan in September, nearly 400 more than the number of Chinese companies exporting textile and apparels to Japan during the corresponding period last year.

From January to September this year, China’s textile and garment exports to Japan amounted to US$ 20.16 billion, up 1.4 percent year-on-year. The clothing sub-sector, however, grew faster at 1.8 percent year-on-year. The average unit price of textile and garment exports swell 7.6 percent year-on-year during the nine-month period.
