China's textile & apparel imports plummet in Feb'13

The imports of textile and apparel from China registered a sharp decline of 29.75 percent year-on-year and were worth US$ 1.384 billion, according to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs.
 
On a month-on-month basis, the dip in China’s textile and apparel imports was 36.55 percent.
 
Segment-wise, the imports of yarn, fabrics and other textiles achieved US$ 1.092 billion, showing a drop of 30.55 percent year-on-year, and 36.59 percent month-on-month.
 
The imports of apparel and clothing accessories were worth US$ 293 million, showing a dip of 26.58 percent year-on-year, and 36.41 percent month-on-month.
 
However, China's total textile and apparel imports reached US$ 3.566 billion in the first two months of 2013, up US$ 286 million or 8.72 percent over the same period last year.
