China continues to be the number-1 source for Argentina’s textile and apparel imports despite strict restrictions implemented by Argentina.

According to a recent report released by Argentina-based IES Consulting Company, a private economic research institution, China's status as the first-largest source of Argentina’s textile imports remains unchanged.

“This has happened, despite the Argentinean government implementing strict restrictions over textile and clothing imports,” the report adds.

In spite of the fact that Argentinean textile imports fell 13.2 percent last year, those from China accounted for 32.4 percent of Argentina’s total textile imports last year, thereby taking the first place.

Textile imports from Brazil and India accounted for 24.6 percent and 5.7 percent, respectively, ranking at second and third place.
