Talks to boost bilateral trade with B'desh

The first session of Vietnam-Bangladesh Joint Commission on Economic, Commercial, Cultural, Scientific and Technological Co-operation was held at Hanoi on February 6, 2006.

Trade Minister Truong Dinh Tuyen was the Vietnamese head while Finance and Planning Minister Salifur Rahman headed Bangladeshi side.

Minister Tuyen informed that the two-way trade had improved to US $54 million in 2005 from $19.3 million in 2001.

The socio-economic condition of both the countries as well as ways to promote bilateral trade was discussed here.

The two ministers signed minutes of the session yesterday on the conclusion of the summit.
