China's textile and apparel exports rise in Sept'13

The exports of textiles and apparel from China rose by 5.81 percent year-on-year to US$ 26.584 billion in September 2013, according to the latest Customs data.
 
The 5.81 percent year-on-year increase in textile and apparel exports is 8.19 percent lower than the nearly 14 percent year-on-year surge observed in August 2013.
 
Segment-wise, the exports of textile yarn, fabrics and related products earned US$ 9.088 billion, registering an increase of 6.4 percent year-on-year, but decrease of 3.19 percent on a month-on-month basis.
 
Exports of apparel and clothing accessories earned US$ 17.496 billion, showing an increase of 5.5 percent year-on-year, but a decrease of 6.21 percent month-on-month.
 
From January to September 2013, China’s total textile and apparel exports stood at US$ 209.53 billion, which is an increase of US$ 22.373 billion or 11.95 percent over corresponding period of last year.
 
In 2012, China exported textiles and apparel valued at US$ 254.921 billion, registering a modest increase of 2.89 percent year-on-year. Of these, exports of textiles, including yarn and fabrics, earned US$ 95.775 billion, showing a year-on-year growth of 1.2 percent, while apparel exports realized US$ 159.145 billion, up 3.9 percent year-on-year.
