Spanish textile export price index dips 0.8% in Sept'13

The Spanish textiles Export Price Index (IPRIX) for the month of September 2013 shows a decline of 0.8 percent year-on-year, according to the data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
 
The IPRIX for the overall exports in Spain has also decreased in the month of September by 2.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
 
The total IPRIX recorded in September is also two tenths lower than the IPRIX registered in the month of August, 2013.
 
The IPRIX of the manufacture of garments sector also declined in the month of September by 0.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
 
Meanwhile, the Import Price Index (IPRIM) of the textile industry in Spain has also declined by 0.4 percent year-on-year for the month of September, whereas it increased in the manufacture of garments sector by 1.1 percent year-on-year during the same month.
 
The IPRIM for the overall imports has also declined by 0.3percent year-on-year in the month of September, which is three tenths over the IPRIX recorded in the month of August 2013.
 
The IPRIX measures the change in prices of industrial products manufactured in Spain for export to other countries, on a monthly basis, whereas the IPRIM indicates the monthly changes in prices of industrial products imported by Spain from other countries.
