In Addis Ababa, Kidwai met Addisu Legesse, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, officials at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Sibhat Nega and other senior government officials.

He commended Pakistani managers leading the administration of the subsidiary companies of EFFORT for their achievements and assured them all help to solve their problems any time.
He added to his countrymen not to fail in their business assignments in Ethiopia.

Investors who had established diverse factories in Ethiopia complained that delays cost them dearly in undergoing official procedures to obtain entry visa.

Investors reiterated, Ethiopia is resourceful having many business opportunities to which Pakistani's were unaware, and here Pakistan Ambassadors should promote Ethiopia in Pakistan by even exploring its mineral resourses. Kidwai said his countrymen coming to Ethiopia for a business assignment could get visas upon their arrival in Addis Ababa

The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce has offered to organize a trade fair in Pakistan and submit a list of Ethiopian investors interested in participating in the fair, however, the response has not been positive even after offering free travel and accommodation costs, said Kidwai.

The government of Pakistan is expected to open an embassy in Addis Ababa. At present Pakistan has eleven embassies in Africa. The current relation is a basis for the future and will be used as a building block, said Sibhat after appreciating Pakistani's dedication to promote bilateral trade and diplomatic relations with Ethiopia.
