Vietnam posted an earning of $33.54 million, exporting 7.94 million pairs of plastic shoes (except sports shoes), in the first quarter of 2006, informed the General Customs department of Vietnam.
This achievement represents a year–on–year jump of 48.21 percent in terms of volume and 79.37 percent in terms of value.
European Union remains the main importer of plastic shoes.
The European Unions' consumers are turning towards plastic shoes in place of leather capped-shoes, which will result into its increased demand in coming times, said market experts.
