Vietnam has become second largest supplier of plastic shoes and sandal to Japan during first quarter of 2006, accounting for 3.36 percent of total imports turnover of Japan.
China remains at top exporting 86.74 percent worth of goods to Japanese market.
Japan imported goods from Vietnam worth Yen 1.54 billion or $13.08 million in first quarter of 2006, recording a growth of 25.04 percent compared to same period of 2005, according to Japan's Customs department.
This growth is the outcome of a sharp hike of 21.94 percent in export price of Vietnamese goods compared to first quarter of 2005, average price of per pair being Yen 1,069 ($9.07 per pair).
Export price of Vietnamese goods for three month period is lower compared to Thailand, Indonesia, Korea etc. but higher than ones from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
