Indian textile exports to the US are booming as it is third time that double digit growth was registered. In March, textile exports to the US shot up 18 percent.

US proved to be a happy hunting ground while rest of the countries lagged behind.

India's exports stood at $1.4 billion while China's registered $4.7 billion, much higher than India.

Indian apparel exports grew at 21 percent at $950 million, while China and Pakistan's apparel exports stood at $2.9 billion and $279 million, respectively.

According to industry experts, all countries textile exports to the US fell due to seasonal effects.

Apart from China, India may face tough competition from Pakistan as its textile exports to the US increased 18 percent and topped as the third largest exporter to the US, in volume terms.

US Office of Textiles and Apparel has informed that Indian exports have retained their third position in value terms.
