Vietnamese Ministry of Trade reported that the US remained the top market for textile and apparel exports in the first five months of 2006 as the turnover reached $877 million.
In May alone, the revenue reached $181 million, recording year-on-year rise of 43 percent.
Industrial experts opine that exports to the giant market will obtain high growth rate in 2006, as being functional for US – Vietnam bilateral agreement and joining WTO would eliminate barriers from exporting to the US.
The sharp growth is also expected to continue in the coming years.
