Signing bilateral negotiation with the US for appointment to WTO on May 31, 2006, has led to a sharp growth in textile and garment industry exports as well as imports.

For week period May 29 to June 8, Vietnam's enterprises exported US $190 million worth of textile and apparel goods, accounting for 43 percent of entire revenues in June 2005.

Meanwhile, imported materials required by the industry also pegged at $160 million, recording a sharp growth.

Experts expect textile and apparel exports turnover in June 2006 to reach over $500 million.
