Chinese textile on the tiles

Textile and clothing business is burgeoning in China with lots of imports and exports during the first four months of 2006.

The export value of Chinese textile is US $39.376 billion; it goes up by 23.12 percent compared to the same period last year.

In terms of clothing trade, the country recorded exports worth $23.922 billion, with the rise of 24.7 percent.

While on imports front, textile products worth $4.906 billion were brought in the country recording an increase of 4.28 percent, and import value of clothing was $0.515 billion, up 29.25 percent.

Japan, America, Hong Kong and EU were its top export destinations. The export value to Japan, US, Hong Kong and EU is $6.239 billion, $5.307 billion, $5.196 billion and $5.949 billion, respectively.

As regards imports, Taiwan, Japan and Korea recorded $1.016 billion, $0.967 billion and $0.801 billion imports remained top countries, respectively.
