Nigeria is on a warpath against smuggling of prohibited imported textile materials.
The country continues to yield positive result as it destroyed 1,359 bales of textiles seized in previous years and materials that had a duty paid value worth N623 millions.
Government initiated action to desist smuggling and prevent such materials from surreptitiously entering local markets, thereby harming local manufacturers' prospects.
Meanwhile, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has warned that it will not remain amute spectator and will carry out drastic action against smugglers who flagrantly violate federal government laws.
