Ministry of Textile plans to restrict exports to South Africa as low-quality Chinese textile has caused retarding effect on employment there.

However, Government of China has decided to stop exporting low-grade textile and promote middle and top-grade Chinese products to shatter the notion that Chinese textiles are cheap and poor in quality.

During the last few years, China has increased its exports to South Africa by almost 80 percent or even more, in certain textile categories.
