Bangladesh's exports increased $1.8 billion with total to $10.5 billion in fiscal 2005-06, informed Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

Exporters have criticized Government policy of setting ambitious target while they were facing severe competition from countries such as India and China.

Country's exports boosted as result of anti-dumping duties imposed by the US on Chinese goods, informed President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Annisul Huq.

Exporters explained that prices were plunged and they had to sell more goods to survive in global market.

The US was largest importer of country's good accounting approximately $3 billion in 2005-06 and country has earned almost 52 percent from the EU market.
