Garment imports surge 34%

Country has imported 54 million items of clothing worth of $80 million from China.
Garment imports from china increased 34 percent compared to last year, informed
Israel Manufacturers' Association
.
Textile imports were also reported 32.7 percent gain in first three months of 2006 compared same period last year worth of $117.6 million.
Association informed that due to rising imports already 600 workers of textile industry have been suspended out of 18,900.
