Bangladesh' textile export grew 24 percent to $7.9 billion due to better quality products and competitive prices.
Textile manufacturers estimated that export figure will be doubled to $15 billion in next five years as global quota regime has ended.
S M Fazlul Hoque, President of the Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) stated that end of global quota has boosted country's exports.
After January 1, 2005, country's textile export dropped 30 percent and financial institutions like International Monetary Fund and World Bank had stated that this decline in exports was due to lack of competitiveness of product and prices.
But Bangladesh has come back in fashion with its low wage strategy and caps on Chinese textile exports, explained Houque.
