Ministry of Finance (MOF) has raised import duties on polyester staple fibre (PSF) by 5 percent compared to previous tariff, according to Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association – Vitas said.
This new import tax will be implemented from September 15, 2006 and regulated in Decision No. 39/2006/QÐ-BTC by MOF.
Vietnam has to depend heavily upon foreign suppliers to source polyester staple fibre, which accounts for large share in total Vietnamese imports turnover.
