Hanoi dashes diverse positive settings to endorse exports

Hanoi is aiming to increase export growth from 15.5 to 20 percent per year, reaching an annual export turnover of US $6.5 billion by 2010.

Town's export market has been expanded to 187 countries worldwide.

Trade department plans to further improve organizations responsible for trade promotion activities.

During 2006-2010, the city will build showrooms for displaying export products, a trade centre for garment accessories, an auction centre and a new fair, exhibition centre and create various positive conditions for promoting exports.

City will focus on export markets for products with strong potential such as electronics, telecommunications, textiles and garments, software, and labor export.

In 2001-2005, the city's export turnover stood at over $10 billion and its contribution to the country's export turnover fell from 10 percent in 2001 to 8.82 percent in 2005.
