Government has warned EU that if it imposes anti-dumping duties on its leather footwear from next month it will be forced to move to World Trade Organisation (WTO) demanding arbitration
It is the largest anti-dumping case against China which will impact 174 million pairs of Chinese leather shoes valued at 13 billion Yuan yearly.
Whether as Hong-Kong-invested shoe manufacturers or traders, nearly 30 percent of Chinese shoes are connected to Hong Kong.
The duties if implemented will affect 18 shoe makers of Hong Kong and nearly 50,000 labourers.
