Textiles and apparel export increased in August

According to the General Administration of Customs, textiles and apparel export reached US $15.2 billion in August to set another historic record following the previous month, up 24.7 percent from August 2005.

In 2005 cotton season, export of textiles and apparel totaled $133.1 billion, indicating a growth of 22.2 percent on year.

Textiles and apparel export registered $91.4 billion in this January-August, 24,7 percent higher than the same period of previous year.

The export destinations showed great changes. China's textiles export to USA and EU only rose 1.8 percent and 6.6 percent respectively, but export to Latin America, South Korea and Southeast Asia increased 51.5, 41,4 and 40.3 percent.
