According to Jiangsu foreign trade bureau, in August textiles and apparel export of the province, for the first time surpassed US $2 billion for a single month, reaching $2.36 billion, a new record in history, up 20 percent from the same period last year, of which the single month export for apparel was $1.49 billion, 22 percent rise over last year.
Export to US and EU earned $532 million and $453 million, representing a rise of 35 percent and 31 percent respectively, accounting 41.7 percent of the total export.
Export to Japan achieved $496 million, close to the largest record in history.
