Chinese prepare ahead of Romania's inclusion in EU

Chinese business community is heading Romania before its entry in European Union in January and officials have warned that country may loose likely investors until it makes access easy for them.

Gabriel Ghelmegeanu, Head of Romania-China Chamber of Commerce said that Chinese businessmen are looking forward to investing in Romania provided they get conducive environment and expected the Chinese investment to double from its current level of $210 million.

Nero, a Romanian Group has started an Asian shopping mall near Bucharest to replace Chinese market called Europa. The city boasts of shopkeepers overburdened with the load of textiles, shoes and carpet.

China's share was 61 percent in the fake goods seized by custom officials in Romania last year. Chinese-Romanian trade was expected at $2 billion this year but it will result in huge deficit for Romania, informed Ghelmegeanu.
