Man-made fibre & textiles export drop as imports rise

Overall man-made filament fibre and textiles exports dropped 16.2 percent, this July, while the imports gained 14 percent to reach 1.581 billion baht.
Exports were adversely affected by significant decline in demand from giant markets of the US, Pakistan, Italy and Japan that recorded a fall of 32.6 percent at 69.078 million baht, 61.2 percent to only 115.4 million, 50.2 and 31.5 percent, respectively.
On the other hand, exports to Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Brazil gained 82.1, 63.2 and 18.4 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia and China emerged as top textile products suppliers to Thailand.
