Canada, potential market for textile exports

As an important new market in America, in recent years Canada has been emerging as a key exporting destination of Vietnamese textile and garment goods, as the country always paves favorable conditions for export of these goods, an official from MOT said.

During the first eight months 2006, Canada spent $66.89 million importing textile and garment products from Vietnam, posting an increase of 32 percent against same period 2005.

Remarkable growth rate was recorded at almost all goods categories during the period, of which category of jackets made strongest development, accounting for 22 percent share of the entire exports turnover, worth $14.4 million.
