Ministry of Industry (MOI) released statistics showing total exports turnover of textile and garment goods of Vietnam for October this year.
Figures indicate exports for the said products reached $530 million, up 7.7 percent over September.
Till October end, several exporter enterprises to US market, the biggest consumer of Vietnamese textiles and apparels, faced quota limits, but strong developments in exporting to non–quota controlled markets like EU and Japan, lead to this remarkable turnaround.
During January–October period 2006, exports turnover climbed up to $4.969 billion, posting year–on–year jump of 27.2 percent.
To achieve 2006 exports targets, Vietnam's textile and garment industry should make optimum use of its domestic markets to lessen pressure on export markets, industry experts from MOI opined.
Moreover, enterprises must partake in Vietnam 2006 Fashion Fair to be hosted in Hanoi during December this year for conducting sale promotion and seeking new markets, they observed.
