Cotton is one of the most important shipments of Tennessee. Also it had maintained cotton as leading export for past three years.
It has been the state's second largest exporter of cotton for the year 2006 and in 2004 and 2005 exports of Tennessee was about 40 percent of total cotton shipment of America.
Through August 2006, cotton exports were valued at $1.376 billion, more than $300 million ahead of state's second largest export.
