Government is trying to achieve an export target of Rs5000 crore from current jute export of Rs1200 crore by 2010.
Out of Rs320 crore jute goods export, 22 percent consists of jute diversified products.
From compounded annual growth of 15 percent per annum, 25 percent of exports are from high end products and remaining by way of yarn and other diversified products.
Jute is also promoted for the manufacture of conveyor belts in food processing industry.
