China's has left behind India in the race of exports to Bangladesh in the fiscal year to June, officials revealed.
Import from China during fiscal year 2005/06 amounted to $2.06 billion compared to that of $1.79 billion from India, according to figures from the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Now country is more diversified than earlier in imports and even China has become more competitive in terms of price and quality.
Earlier capital goods, textiles and consumer goods which use to come in bulk from India and Europe are now imported from China.
Although country's exports to India grew 75 percent, imports from India dropped 10 percent.
