In October 2006, Vietnam's footwear industry exported goods worth $280.90 million, increasing total export turnover for first ten months of 2006 by 21 percent (worth $2.901 billion) comparable to previous year.
After European Commission levied a 10 percent anti-dumping duty on leather shoes, domestic manufacturers were facing difficulties in terms of exports for 2007 season, industrial expert revealed.
For October 2006, US occupied top place in list of countries importing footwear goods from Vietnam (worth $658.72 million) followed by England (worth $435.96 million).
