In November this year, the Southern city of Ho Chi Minh earned $855.9 million from exporting textile and garment goods, a surge by 10.8 percent annually, official sources said.
Similarly, footwear industry of the city exported goods worth $220.7 million, at an increasing rate of 3.7 percent compared to same period of previous year.
According to experts, both these goods accounted for nearly 50 percent of total export turnover of the city, was made possible with better quality and promotion programmes.
As these goods mainly rely on imported material, profits were not in proportion of goods exported.
In November, 2006, goods worth $1.255 billion are exported by Ho Chi Minh city at an increasing rate of 18 percent.
