Denim fabric worth 4.5cr detained by DRI

Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized denim fabric worth Rs4.5 crore, imported by a Mumbai-based firm, at Tuticorin.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Tuticorin, seized 2.20 lakh metres of denim fabrics and 72,000 metres of polyester corduroy fabrics.
The customs duty, which the company tried to evade, amounted to Rs2.74 crore.
One person was arrested for this crime.
