Crown Prince plans Pakistan tour to enhance bilateral trade

Bahrain plans to double bilateral trade with Pakistan in coming years. For this purpose, Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa will be heading a delegation for a two day visit to Islamabad.
Pakistani Government's Board of Investment will give a special presentation on overseas investment possibilities to the Shaikh and his economic team. Shaukat Aziz, Pakistani Prime Minister, will also meet the delegation.
President Pervez Musharraf will hold talks with the crown prince, who has been assigned to initiate Bahrain's first embassy in Islamabad. Visit aims to enhance bilateral trade which is worth $1,00,000 per annum at present.
Country's exports to Pakistan include petroleum and aluminium, while imports include textiles, carpets, raw materials and consumer goods. Private sectors of both nations must co-operate to explore new business opportunities.
Two memoranda of understanding (MoU) are scheduled to be inked during this visit.
