In October 2006, synthetic leather imports turnover stood at US $11.4 million, a year-on-year increase of 20.8 percent and 14 percent compared to previous year, Vietnam General Customs Department informs.
For the first ten months, synthetic leather import turnover rose by 1.8 percent compared to 2005 by importing goods worth $117 million.
Out of total goods imported, Taiwan accounted 38 percent by exporting goods worth $44.4 million. While China generated revenue of $13.55 million, a year-on-year surge of 18.98 percent.
Import turnover of Hong Kong and Thailand in October saw a growth of 214.81 percent and 188.77 percent respectively from previous year.
