In first ten months of 2006, Brazil's footwear exports suffered a year–on–year decline of 10 percent in volume and failed to achieve its current year's export target of 18 million pairs in this period, official sources said.
During this period, exports to US saw a sharp rise of 22 percent and a drop of 11 percent and 15 percent to Argentina and Mexico, respectively.
Due to hike in export price, export of the country generated revenue worth $1.574 billion, a surge of 5 percent over same period 2005.
