EU imposed tariffs on imports of polyester staple fibers (PSF) from Taiwan and Malaysia to protect producers like Ireland's Wellman International Ltd and Spain's La Seda de Barcelona SA from cheaper imports.
On Taiwan, duty of about 29.5 percent is imposed while on Malaysia about 23 percent is charged by EU. These duties may prolong for more than five years or it can last only for six months.
In past couple of months, EU scrapped anti-dumping duties from India, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia. But it kept duties on China, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Belarus.
Taiwan and Malaysia have doubled their market share to 15 percent compared to 2002.
