Istanbul Textile & Ready-to-wear Clothing Exporters' Association (ITKIB) has estimated textile sector to export goods worth US $6 million and ready-to-wear sector (RMG) to export about $15 billion in 2007, agencies reported.
Last year, ready-to-wear sector grew at eight percent and accounted for 24 percent of total exports of the country.
Similarly, exports of southeastern Turkey stood at $2.2 billion in 2006, a hike of 16.54 percent.
Turkish Clothing Industrialists' Association estimated ready-to-wear industry to grow at 30 to 40 percent from current $10 billion.
ITKIB is also planning to organize fair in February and they would concentrate mainly on Asia-Pacific and South American markets in 2007.
