On January 11, 2007, new chairman of US's Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements (CITA), Matthew Priest gave instruction to remove all export quota and e–visa on textile and apparel goods imported from Vietnam, sources said.

This is the result of Vietnam's official membership in WTO from January 11, 2007.

Till now, US Ministry of Trade has not given any new direction about carrying out any program to supervise imports of domestic textile and garment goods.
