Quota restrictions not to affect trade with Romania

Despite quota impositions on Chinese products by EU, trade between Romania and China is expected to surge by 35 to 50 percent in future.

After inclusion of Romania in EU, trade tariffs on Chinese goods decreased by 30 percent, averaging 15 to 18 percent.

According to statistics, bilateral trade between both the countries stood at US $2.2 billion in 2006, a surge of 30 percent.

In 2006, imports from China stood at US $1.938 billion and exports at $200 million, a hike of 32 percent and 2 percent, respectively.
