Shanghai textile exports soar in 2006

In 2006, import & export of Shanghai stood at US $428.75 billion, a hike of 22.3 percent over previous.

Out of total foreign trade, exports stood at $266.56 billion and imports at $162.19 billion, a surge of 25.5 percent and 17.3 percent, respectively.

During this period, clothing and accessories exports reached $34.34 billion, an increase of 13.6 percent.

Similarly, textile yarn, fabric and apparel exports stood 21.17 billion, a rise of 15.9 percent and furniture exports were $4.67 billion, an augment of 27.7 percent.
