Tibet's success prompts Sikkim to review list for China trade

Qinghai-Tibet Railway and reopening of Nathu La pass along with trading markets on China-India border have been responsible for such stupendous trade, said Director of Tibet's Commerce Department, Tan Yungao.

Tibet's trade, exceeded 157 million yuan ($20 million), up 28.71 percent from 2005 and representing 54 percent of the region's total foreign trade volume.

Tibet autonomous region in southwest China achieved $290 million of foreign trade in 2006, a year-on-year increase of 40.7 percent.
