Bilateral trade with Cambodia to soar by 27%

Government has taken measures to boost bilateral trade with Cambodia by 27 percent per annum for next three years.

In 2010, bilateral exports are expected to reach US $2.45 billion, of which Vietnam will export $1.9 billion and $545 million from Cambodia.

Major exports between these countries would be products such as materials for textile and garment sector.

Government will try to increase ratio of manufacturing goods and maintain farm produce in its exports to Cambodia.

Since 2001, Vietnam has emerged as third largest importer of Cambodia as imports increased by 35 percent.

Similarly, Vietnam is fourth largest exporter to Cambodia as exports reached $770 million over $146 million in 2001.

Experts advised enterprises to increase competitiveness of products exported to Cambodian market.
