Malta's Minister of Foreign Affairs Michael Frendo will lead a trade delegation to China in summer to celebrate 35 years of diplomatic bilateral relations.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese Embassy had organized a joint conference on Malta-China relations in St Julians on February 23, 2007. Speaking at the conference, Frendo conveyed that he will attend the seventh session of Sino-Maltese Joint Commission on Economic Affairs in Beijing.
Maltese traders are banking on Chinese imports. Chinese entrepreneurs want to utilize vast investment opportunities in the country, especially in IT sector.
China exports textiles, apparel, house appliances, footwear, electric machinery and high-tech products from Malta and it imports chips designed by ST.
