Trade surplus shows obvious decline in March

Customs data showed that China's textile and garment exports in March were $7.975 billion, a decrease of 24.34 percent from the same time last year. Of which, exports of textile products (yarn, fabric and manufactured products) marked $3.301 billion, clothing exports registered $4.674 billion.

China's total textile and apparel exports from the first quarter were $31.351 billion, an increase of 14.67 percent, of which, textile products (yarn, fabrics and apparel) exported $11.12 billion, an increase of 9.8 percent. Garment exported $20.231 billion, an increase of 17.6 percent.

Vice Minister of Commerce said recently that looking at country's current trade size, it was unrealistic to achieve absolute trade balance in a few short years. It should be put in a way that the situation of trade imbalance could be improved, after repeated efforts from China.
