Textile and appreal industry is the second biggest foreign exchange earner for Vietnam with strong growth in both production and exports.
Although US and EU are two biggest importers of Vietnamese textile, it has been shaken by the impact of US import monitoring program. However CBI's program would accelerate exports to the EU market.
In the first half 2007, Vietnam's textile and apparels export turnover US $3.4 billion, meeting only 47 percent of its yearly plan, despite a year-on-year rise of 25.9 percent.
